A few days ago I posted on my blog my Weekly Points to Ponder: 10.17.14. One of the topics was Tennessee’s upcoming vote on Amendment 1. It is one of the most important votes that we can cast – and we have the power to do it!

YES on 1 is a community-based outreach to raise awareness of the proposed pro-life constitutional amendment slated for public vote on November 4, 2014. Local committees in support of YES on 1 are being developed in communities, counties, churches and campuses across the state. Because of a radical 4-1 ruling by the Tennessee Supreme Court in 2000, Tennessee now boasts a broader right to abortion than that recognized by Roe v. Wade or the U.S. Constitution.
Because of radical court rulings which struck down protections for abortion-vulnerable women and girls, Tennessee has become a destination for those seeking unregulated abortion. Nearly 25% of all abortions in Tennessee are now performed on out-of-state women and nearly half of the state’s abortion facilities are not inspected or licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health due to these court decisions. In November 2014 Tennessee voters will decide whether or not to restore basic health and safety standards in our state for women and girls considering abortion.
It is time to stop making Tennessee an abortion destination. Please take the time to watch the video below and PLEASE vote YES to amendment 1 in Tennessee. It’s time for our vote to be heard and it’s time we stand up for biblical values.
