There are times in my life that I just know that God is trying to tell me something and most of the time, it takes several times for me to realize just exactly what HE is saying.

Post It NoteOver the past few weeks a good friend of mine and fellow blogger, Anthony Baker, has been talking about prayer on his blog The Recovering Legalist. Several of this post have brought some good thoughts about prayer to mind and have made me think that I just don’t pray enough.

But nothing hit me has hard as when I came home and found a note from my daughter that read:

Dear Jason, I’d really like to talk with you today. Love, God

I felt like I had just be slapped across the face by my own daughter.

So many times we rush through our days, trying to get things done, trying to do “ministry” and we forget to do the most important thing that any of us could do – PRAY!

Here are several awesome quotes about prayer:

“Prayer is the vital breath of the Christian; not the thing that makes him alive, but the evidence that he is alive.” – Oswald Chambers

“We are all too busy to use the mightiest weapon God has given us – prayer!” – J. Sidlow Baxter

“When you kneel in prayer, don’t give God orders, just report to your Commander in Chief for duty.” – Michael Catt

“I’d rather be able to pray than be a great preacher; Jesus Christ never taught his disciples how to preach, but only how to pray.” – D. L. Moody

A good friend of mine one said, “Prayer should not be for us to change the mind of God; prayer should be for God to change us and conform us to HIS will.”

Take time today to pray – to talk with the One who gives your breath. To speak to the Creator of the universe. The One who holds everything in his hands!
