Fear-NotThis week’s foundation verse is found in Isaiah 43:5 and it says,

Fear not, for I am with you.

Wow, those are some truly powerful words, but then why do christians fear?

My belief is that we (christians) try to take situations into our own hands and control the outcome. We take our eyes off of God and place them upon ourselves. When we do that, we become anxious and we worry. God reminds us in Matthew 6 that we are not to be anxious because there is no way we can add even one hour to our own life. God is in control!

I have heard it said that there are 365 times in the Bible that the words “Fear Not” are mentioned and that it is a daily remember for us to remember that God has told us to “Fear Not” and trust HIM!

Our verse is almost a mirror verse of Isaiah 41:10 which says,

For not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

What a comfort to know that if we have placed our faith and trust in God, then there is NO reason for us to fear. Rest in the knowledge that GOD IS IN CONTROL!
