Today’s Worship Wednesday song comes from the group Selah and is entitled “I Belong To Jesus (Oh Hallelujah)”. Selah consist of three members: Amy Perry, Alan Hall & Todd Smith. (Head over to their website for more information about this trio.)

I had the opportunity during this past Christmas season to be a small part of one of their concerts here in my hometown. It was awesome! They have a genuine love for the Lord and use their voices to bring glory to His name. (Alan was sick this evening and was not able to be at the concert)

Today’s song is a great encouragement to me because of what it reminds us of. We were dead in our sins but because of His love and mercy, HE paid the price for our sins. It is a beautiful word picture of the gospel. Here are the words to the song:

[Verse 1]
I belong to Jesus, what blessed mystery
The vilest of all sinners now forgiven and redeemed
Oh, the depths of darkness His love would reach down through
To cover me with mercy and hide me in His wounds

[Chorus]
Oh, hallelujah, oh, bless His name
Ten thousand years will just begin my song of praise
Oh, hallelujah, sing it again
I belong to Jesus, I belong to Him

[Verse 2]
I belong to Jesus, the cross that once was mine
Became the curse that He would bear and give to me new life
I am His forever, forever He is mine
My freedom bought and paid for by His blood divine

I hope you enjoy today’s Worship Wednesday song and may it remind all of us just how much Jesus loves us and the length He went to to rescue us!
