Jesus Loved Barabbas

A few weeks ago the video below was played at my church and WOW, is it powerful! We all know, even most unsaved people, that John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”.

That is an unbelievable verse that we have read, heard & quoted ourselves for years. But do we fully understand that verse? I am so thankful for His love and grateful for His mercy that He has so richly given to me. But what I have a hard time understanding is His love for someone that would not accept Him and not follow Him. In other words – Barabbas! As the video says, we have no mention of Barabbas being saved and living his life for Jesus, yet Jesus loved him.

I am a father of a 15 year old (at the time of this writing) daughter and it is hard enough for me to imagine sacrificing her for someone who would follow me but you better believe that I am not about to sacrifice her for someone I know will NEVER follow me! I am sorry but I am pretty sure I don’t have that type of love to give away.

I don’t know who will read this blog or exactly when you will read this blog post, but can I assure you that no matter who you are, what you have done – Jesus loves you! You are not too far from His love! HIS UNBELIEVABLE LOVE!

Jesus loves me! Jesus love you! And He even loved Barabbas!
