In 2012, I hosted the first Christmas Music Madness here on my blog and we all had so much fun. It has been three years since the first one and it is time to do it again. There are so many new Christmas songs that have come out in the past three years and plus I have a lot of new followers to my blog. I hope that you will play along with this and have fun!

Here is what the Christmas Music Madness 2015 is all about. It is to find my reader’s favorite Christmas song – secular or religious. Once nominations are over, I will place the songs in a 16 team bracket for a battle to the end and to be crowned the Christmas Music Madness Champion.

Here is how it works. There will be one week of nominations of your favorite Christmas song. You can nominate one song per day – each day or you can nominate a different song each day – every day. It is that simple.

After the week of nominations are over, I will calculate the votes and the song with the most number of nominations goes into the #1 spot in the bracket. The top 16 songs nominated will be placed in the bracket and move on into the Sweet 16 Round.

The following is the schedule for the Christmas Music Madness 2015:

Nomination Week: November 26 – December 4
The Sweet 16: December 6 – December 11
The Elite 8: December 13 – December 18
The Final Four: December 20 – December 25
The Finals: December 26th – December 31
The Christmas Music Madness 2015 Champion crowned: January 1, 2016

So, quick review – from November 26 – December 4, you can submit one song per day of your favorite Christmas song (be sure to come back each day). After nominations are closed and tallied, the brackets will be set and the voting will being on December 6. You can then vote for your song one time each day. The song with the most votes will move on to the next round until we have eliminated all of the songs except one – the Christmas Music Madness 2015 Champion!

CMM Nominations BannerI wanted to give you a sneak peek into the nomination process of the Christmas Movie Madness. We started last Monday, November 4, and will continue to November 23. As of yesterday, here are the results:

CMM Nominations BannerThe Christmas Movie Madness has begun! Starting today, you can nominate your favorite Christmas movie one time per day for 20 days. (This does include those 30 minute mini-movies like “Santa Clause Is Coming To Town” and “Frosty The Snowman”) On November 25, the top 16 teams will be placed in a brackets to compete against each other to see what is your favorite Christmas movie. Come and enjoy the fun and join in on the CHRISTMAS MOVIE MADNESS!

Christmas Movie Madness Rules and Schedule

Screenshot 2013-10-17 12.05.21Here is how the Christmas Movie Madness will work, beginning on November 4, you will have almost three weeks (20 days) to nominate your favorite Christmas movie. You can nominate the same movie or a different movie once a day for the 20 days. Once the nomination period is over, I will tally the nominations and then proceed to place them in a 16 team bracket. The movie that received the most nominations during the 20 day period will receive the top spot (#1). The movie with the second most nominations will receive the #2 spot and so on until we reach #16.

Then the real fun begins. On November 25, 2013, the brackets will be revealed and the voting begins. The polls will be only open from Monday – Friday but you can vote one time per day during this period. Once the first week is over, the following Monday will be the unveiling of the 8 movies that were left standing.

The Christmas Movie Madness schedule will be as follows:

  • November 4 – 24: Nomination of movies (one nomination per day is allowed)
  • November 25 – 29: 16 team brackets revealed & voting begins
  • December 2 – 6: The Elite 8 team brackets revealed & voting begins
  • December 9 – 13: The Final 4 team brackets revealed & voting begins
  • December 16 – 20: The Championship Round (2 remaining) will be revealed & voting begins
  • December 25: The Winner of the Christmas Movie Madness will be revealed

So don’t forget:

  1. Nominations begin November 4, 2013
  2. Nominate your favorite movie every day for 20 days
  3. Top 16 teams will be placed in a 16 team bracket
  4. The first round of voting begins November 25, 2013

CMM is the Christmas Movie Madness! That’s right, this year we get to debate on what is the best Christmas movie of all time and you get to decide with your votes!

Top 16 Songs – Christmas Music Madness

The nominations are in and the brackets are set for the Christmas Music Madness! Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate your favorite Christmas song. I have placed the nominations in order from one to sixteen based on the number of times it was nominated from November 12th – 24th.

The #1 song that was nominated over that period was “Mary, Did You Know”.
