Proverbs 19:20 “Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.” I have one child. She is currently eight years old going on 16 and she already knows everything! I am sure that most parents have been in this situation at one time or another. I have found myself more […]Listen To Me Please! — Proverbial Thought (& More)
I am excited to announce to you that “Proverbial Thought” is now in print! Wow, this is exciting! Several years ago, I was invited by Anthony Baker to join this endeavor and so I became part of the Proverbial Thought team.
Anthony’s desire was to have a running commentary, verse by verse, of the book of Proverbs. So, a group of men & and a young lady, took up the task of providing a daily “thought”. Little did we know how it would impact people’s lives.
It took about 2 years to complete this task and now we are excited to let you know that these “thoughts” are now in a book form. (Official Book Release)
Proverbial Thought is a collection of commentary and personal reflection on the wisdom of each and every individual proverb through the entire book of Proverbs. However, the commentary and personal reflection contained in this work are in no way exhaustive. For that matter, even if we were to attempt to plumb the depths of Proverbs, “the world itself could not contain the books that should be written” (John 21:25). It is up to you, the reader, how to use this book (and the ones to follow). You could use it as a devotional, reading an entry a day as you seek to start your day in the wisdom of the Lord. You could use it as an additional commentary as you study God’s Word for a lesson or sermon. You could even use it to gain insight into that occasionally difficult passage that has you stumped. But no matter how you use it, always make sure to first ask the Holy Spirit for enlightenment when you study Scripture. For the sake of continuity, the Authorized Version (KJV) of the Bible is used as the main text in each entry. However, contributors to Proverbial Thought were given the option to include additional versions where appropriate. – Anthony Baker
This release is Volume One and was edited by Anthony. He has done an awesome job in putting this book together. The following volumes will be edited and released at a later date.
